Review - Delicious gelato and bubble teas (try the Taro flavor). This place has evolved from selling just those to serving food now, too. Cute place, though lately it has turned into a teeny-bopper hangout spot. Seats are somewhat uncomfortable (no chairbacks) and the fabric chairs are filthy, but staying in is still bearable. It's best to just come here, pick up desserts and drinks, and then take it outside -- especially in the summer: there are benches right along River Drive's boardwalk/mini park great for checking out the nyc skyline, boats on the hudson, or just people watching.

Review - this place is perfect for a relaxed dessert or bubble tea after eating out in the area. i love the vanilla chai, try it!! they do serve dinner, but the atmosphere is more along the lines of a cafe so i would not recommend it if you are looking for a romantic restaurant.
if you are stopping by in the summer it is a treat to take your tea to go and walk along the riverfront. this area has changed dramatically and it is always nice to wander around and enjoy the view of NY. if you like hoboken this area will seem like a nice gem of a find since it is more affordable, private and enclosed than the piers/parks there.

Review - First of all, this is solely a review for the traditional ice-cold black tea with milk (bubble tea) bwo bah nigh chah. In this area, I consider myself an expert. I've order five of these from this place up to this point.
In a gist, Average, but satisfying
Portion - I only order the large and it is large enough to be satifying. There is plenty of liquid but not enough balls.
Mixture - Three out of five ordered had either way too much milk and/or way too much sugar. It is black tea with milk and not Milk and Sugar with black tea, right? HINT: Make sure you tell them you want a little milk unless of course you like it milky.
The Balls - Nice and chewy, not clumpy, not overcooked or undercooked, real nice caramel aftertaste. Very good.
The Cooling Agent - over ice cubes, shaken not stirred. My personal preference here is over shaved ice which they have the ability to do, but just don't. Perhaps, it is because I haven't asked yet.
Atmosphere - who cares? I'm just in and out for the bubble tea, right?
Price - a little pricy, but hey, this is Newport! What d'ya expect?
Nice Touches - film sealing mechanism for the cup, frequent drinker card (Buy 10, get 1 free), pick your own color of straw.
Customer Service - typical punkass youth, typical for a coffee bar. You go there for service? Of course not.

Review - A great teahouse and gelato establishment. A really fun place to go. Some of the seating is a bit uncomfortable with their standard teahouse chairs which are hard wood and have no backs. Try to snag one of the comfortable chairs or the couch! :-)

Review - They have really great gelato! The bubble tea is so-so and inconsistent. Sometimes it's watered down, other times it's too sweet. Definitely not the best I've had...it's rather pricey as well. The ambiance seems a little off balance -- seems like a failed attempt at neo-asian fusion. Parking's tough too. But the gelato makes it worthwhile.

Review - A large variety of scrumptious (in-house made) gelato and bubble tea, great location with a magnificent view of the NYC skyline. The employees are very friendly and customer oriented. In my opinion Babo one of the best ice cream and bubble tea establishment in the area. I give it a 9.9 out of 10. Parking can be a challenge to find. One minute walk from the Pavonia/Newport PATH train station.
