shortcut for commuting by PATH

I'm considering to buy a unit in the shore. Can anyone share the informationif the gate of the parking garage near James Monroe will open during weekday rush hour, particularly 8~10am? because if so it can be a shortcut to new port Path and shorten the walking time from 6 to 3 or 4 mins. During a windy or snow day it can be a relief. Thanks.

There is no 6 min shortcut to the path. The walk is about 5min, period. Stop trying to create some sort of bull!

what I meant is:
shorten the walking time from "6" to "3 or 4" mins.

ok I may walk more slowly. but you know what I mean. 6 can be replaced with 5.

I don't know the answer, but I know what you mean. The other poster is just one of the jerks on here trying to spin your words to making the shore appear closer to the PATH.

You clearly don't understand the OP and are one of the many individuals who love to bash and hide behind the anonymity on this board. GROW UP and if you have nothing to add then don't post!

When walking to the PATH from the shore you typically have to walk around past south city grill on the sidewalks of the main street through Newport. The OP is asking if there is a shortcut through the parking deck next to James Monroe. There is a gate there and the OP wants to know if it is open during commuting hours to allow for this shortcut. Cutting through the garage would drastically reduce the walk to the PATH.

While I do not live in Newport, this has always been one of my complaints about the neighborhood. They seem to have designed it around cars and did not make it pedestrian friendly. To walk from the rental building next to James Monroe to Dorians even requires you to walk all the way around on the streets and there is no cut through. Seems ridiculous to me and they should fix this.

If they open up the gate to let anyone into the garage for the short cut, who's gonna assume resposiblity when a car parked inside is damaged? It ain't gonna be Newport Associates. Liabilites, there that's your answer.
