Any developments? When is the commercial area available for occupancy and prep work for Duane Reade?

I was told by the doorman that 2 retails are coming:

StarBucks
Bank (some local bank)

Haven't heard much about Duane Reade.

Originally, the base was due to host Duane Reade - maybe it fell through? Nevertheless, the commercial space is too large for just Starbucks and a bank.

The "starbucks" retail space appears to be only half the width of the base of the tower; only on the western side of the tower. It also appears that there is a second retail space on the western facade under the tower, and probably at least 3, maybe 4 retail spaces on the eastern facade of the main tower. Beneath the mid-rise portion along Newark Avenue, there is at least one retail space large enough for Duane Reade size pharmacy, and probably a second smaller retail space. In addition to this, the other building on Newark Avenue adjacent to Grove Pointe recently had its eastern most retail space renovated (between Dunkin Donuts and Grove Pointe). This is probably too small to hold a pharmacy like duane reade, but maybe large enough for a restaurant or bar.

I was really hoping for a Duane Reade at Grove Pointe, I can't imagine a better location. There are NO good pharmacies in the area.

Seriously, a good pharmacy would do mad business at that location. it doesn't matter if it's Duane Reade, a Rite Aid or Walgreens or CVS would be fine too.

A 24 hour diner at Grove Pointe with available space on a the more appropriate restaurant rows on Newark and Grove Street? No thanks.

The base of the tower has sufficient available space for a pharmacy. Perhaps they are still prepping the retail area before announcing Duane Reade. Last year, the "confirmed" tennant was DR and a bank, and Starbucks was just a rumor. The rumor came true eventually, so maybe DR is still on the books.

I don't see why everyone is concerned. The only retail space with any indication of what it will be is the Starbucks space. Which means 80% of the retail is still open. Also, it looks like its all under construction still, so I wouldn't worry until you see signs in the windows indicating some other retail.
